As part of DiGiN’s mutual exchange series, we are pleased to invite you to our next webinar on Thursday, 27 November 2025, from 11.00 to 12.30 CET, focusing on how municipalities and any workplace can strengthen LGBTIQ+ inclusion within their internal structures and daily operations.
This session is organised in collaboration with the City of Vienna.
What to expect
We are honoured to welcome Dr Helga Haberler, Officer at the Vienna Anti-Discrimination Office for LGBTIQ Affairs. Drawing on Vienna’s longstanding commitment to equality, Helga will present how the City is embedding LGBTIQ+ inclusion across internal structures and day-to-day operations, and share practical insights into how workplace cultures can evolve from within.
Although the examples stem from a municipal context, the lessons are relevant across workplaces and institutions striving to build inclusive, representative environments.
Webinar objectives
Public institutions and workplaces play a critical role in fostering safe, inclusive and representative environments for staff. Making diversity and inclusion part of everyday governance requires more than commitment statements: it demands internal procedures, tools, accountability and sustained staff mobilisation. This webinar aims to:
- Showcase Vienna’s institutional approach to LGBTIQ+ mainstreaming, including internal procedures, tools and governance mechanisms.
- Share effective staff mobilisation strategies and approaches for engaging change agents.
- Reflect on practical challenges and lessons learned from Vienna’s experience, offering transferable insights to other municipalities.
- Inspire peer learning and collaboration among municipal staff and DEI practitioners across Europe.
This webinar will offer concrete takeaways for local government leaders, HR professionals, DEI practitioners and officers, municipal employees and anyone striving to build fair, representative and inclusive workplaces.
Participation is free and open to all. Registration is required:
