The DiGiN project announces the launch of the #InclusiveMunicipalitiesEU campaign, a Europe-wide initiative to drive inclusive governance and workplace policies. The campaign introduces practical tools and highlights inspiring practices from cities leading the way in inclusive governance.
This initiative features the DEI Capacity Assessment Tool, designed to help municipalities evaluate and strengthen their workplace DEI strategies. The campaign will also showcase DiGiN’s inspiring practices, offering real-life examples demonstrating how local policies can drive inclusion and equity.
Why It Matters
Municipalities are more than service providers and policy-making institutions, they are workplaces that employ individuals from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, municipalities make decisions that affect a wide range of citizens in an increasingly globalised world. By using the DEI Capacity Assessment Tool, municipalities can:
- Assess their current workplace practices using evidence-based indicators.
- Pinpoint opportunities to create equitable, inclusive and supportive environments.
- Track progress over time ensuring continuous improvement and sustainability.
Campaign timeline
The #InclusiveMunicipalitiesEU campaign will officially launch on March 1, Zero Discrimination Day, and will continue through March 8, International Women’s Day, celebrating inclusion and equity in governance. The campaign will extend to May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), ensuring sustained engagement with municipalities and stakeholders.
